Kids Ministry @ Immanuel

Wherever and whoever you are, WE'RE HERE for you! Jesus loves you & so do we! Life can be challenging and WE'RE HERE for you & your family. WE'RE HERE to help you know who God is & experience what he does. WE'RE HERE to give you an opportunity to be part of something bigger than you. WE'RE HERE because God is here for you!

Ministry to children at Immanuel is centered around helping children follow Jesus in ways that will make a difference in who they are and how they live. We cannot decide for our children, but we can walk alongside them, offering affirmation & information. We pray that when the time is right, God will draw them to Himself in a way that will make a difference forever. Immanuel is glad to have weekly activities for children, from birth through 5th grade, that lead children closer to God.

Throughout the year, we also host large-group events, such as Music Camp & Vacation Bible School, that help children know who God is & experience what he does.

Parents, WE'RE HERE for you! You are the #1 influence in your child's life, and we want to partner with & equip you to lead them to follow Jesus. We look forward to getting to know you & serving your family the best way we can.  Click HERE for more information about how we can serve you.

FAQs

WHAT EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES ARE COMING UP NEXT?

You can see the upcoming calendar above and each event will have all the information you need, including links to registration, etc.

WHAT ACTIVITIES HAPPEN EVERY WEEK?

We have Sunday School every Sunday morning at 9:30 am

We have Awana every Wednesday at 6:00 pm from September through May.

These activities, and more, are listed on the calendar above.

WHAT’S IT LIKE IF WE’RE NEW?

If it’s one of your first times with us, we are so excited to meet you! We know firsthand what it’s like bringing your family somewhere new, so our goal is truly to make your experience as stress-free as possible.

All of our weekly kid-specific activities take place here at Immanuel in the Gaddy Building, which is the one on the left side if you’re looking from the parking lot. There is a lobby on the first floor and we promise to always have someone to welcome you and show you around. Some of our activities, such as our nursery and Awana, take place on the first floor, and some take place upstairs, but we’ll make sure to show you exactly where your kids will be.

We’ll also make sure to get any relevant emergency contact information from you just in case we need to get a hold of you.

Feel free to arrive early as well, but either way our leaders will be more than happy to show you around and introduce your family to the leaders who will be with your kids. Feel free to ask any and all questions that you have too!

DO MY KIDS WORSHIP WITH ME?

We do have nursery available to serve children 6 weeks through age 3, and we invite you to check that out if you are interested.

During our Sunday morning worship services, we invite kids ages 4 and up to worship with their families in the sanctuary. Our church truly sees children as a blessing, and while you may be concerned about them being a distraction, we can promise that it will not be a concern for us.

On the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month, we have Children's church for kids age 4 through 2nd grade. During those worship services, we dismiss the kids after the music, and parents pick them up next door in our gym when the service is over.

WHO LEADS THE KIDS ACTIVITIES?

In addition to our paid staff, our activities are led by our wonderful volunteers! Everyone serving with kids has an active background check on file with the church and is well-trained and experienced to serve with children.

WILL MY CHILD BE SAFE?

Safety is one of our top priorities for your kids, and we have taken all necessary steps to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for your kids. We invite you to view our Child Protection Policy here. We are always looking to improve as well, so if you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to share them with us. If there are any unique ways we can serve your family as well, please let us know.

DO YOU MEET IF THERE’S INCLEMENT WEATHER?

While it is something we rarely have to consider, our plan is to cancel activities in conjunction with the Savannah/Chatham County Public School System. We will do our best to communicate those closures as soon as possible.

WHAT IF MY CHILD IS SICK?

Children and volunteers should not attend activities if they have had any of the following symptoms in the past 24 hours:

  • colored discharge from eyes, ears, or nose

  • vomiting or diarrhea

  • fever over 99 degrees (must be fever free for 24 hours without medication)

  • rash associated with viral or bacterial infection

  • contagious illness (hand, foot, & mouth, coronavirus, etc.)

  • lice or nits

If your child becomes sick during our activity, we will contact you immediately.

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS ALLERGIES?

Communicate those with us when you check-in, along with any instructions for medication such as an inhaler or EpiPen. Our workers will administer medication only in emergency situations where allergies and medication instructions have been communicated by you.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ACTIVITIES FOR PARENTS?

Yes, we do! On Sunday Mornings at 9:30 am we have Sunday School small group Bible studies for all ages and stages in life and we would love to have you as our guest at one! On Wednesday nights during Awana, we also have an adult Bible study that meets here at the church and is open for everyone.

CAN I VOLUNTEER TO SERVE?

Definitely! If you are interested in volunteering, simply click HERE for more information and to let us know!
